Obituary for Vinodchandra Shah
Our Family is sad to announce the passing of our beloved Vinodchandra Shah.

Vinod Madhavlal Shah (83) passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at his
residence. He was the beloved husband of Chandrika Shah (married in December of 1965) and
the son of the late Madhavlal and Champaben Shah of Mumbai, India. Vinod had earned his
master’s degree in civil engineering and moved to the United States from India in 1970 with his
wife and daughter. He had a long career working for the Federal Aviation Administration as
well as being an entrepreneur and owning his own businesses over time.
Vinod had a deep love for family, good food and company, and the beach. He loved to travel
and see the world. He would often take his family cross-country during holidays so they could
see the United States.
He is survived by his wife, Chandrika Shah; his children, Ruta Shah-Gordon and husband David
of Iselin, NJ, Tapan Shah and his wife Smita of Bellevue, WA, Dipa Janki and her fiancé Miguel
of Iselin, NJ; and his siblings, Girish Shah of Elmhurst, NY, Arun Shah of Elmhurst, NY, Rajesh
Shah and wife, Bharthi of Elmhurst, NY, the late Kiran Shah of Mumbai, India, Bhavana Desai
of Sangli, India, and the late Renuka Shah of Mumbai, India. He enjoyed spending time, playing
on the beach and having meals with his seven grandchildren: Anjali, Kavita, Rohan, Priya, Sejal,
Asha, and Keira.
A private cremation service will be held on Wednesday, July 6th and we will celebrate his life at
a later date when we can gather with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made in Vinod Shah’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.
