Obituary for Susanta Kumar Banerjee
In Loving Memory of our beloved father, Susanta Kumar Banerjee.
Our beloved father Susanta Kumar Banerjee passed away on Dec 25, 2020 in Edison, NJ. He led his life with simplicity and humility and with the ethos of doing no harm to others either by acts and words of commission or omission. After the passing away of his beloved wife, Nilima, he split his time between his elder son in Vietnam and younger son in the US.
He enjoyed having tea and his cream cracker biscuits. He loved all kinds of good movies – Bengali, Hindi & English, music and turn of the 20th century Bengali literature. He was an avid follower of contemporary Indian and West Bengal politics and he could get very animated with the latest twists and turns of democratic politics back home in India. He enjoyed telling stories and particularly enjoyed regaling us with many a cinema story line. Earlier in his life, he was an amateur community theatre actor and he fondly reminisced about plays and acting of any kind. He was also a good amateur bridge player and won a few trophies in his playing days
He is missed dearly by his 2 sons and their families. His grandchildren will always lovingly remember him as their "Dada".
We will forever carry on the values you taught us Baba. We miss you and love you very dearly. Both you and Ma will always be there in our hearts.
