Obituary for Robert Thomas Stango Jr.

Robert T. Stango Jr, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2020, following a long battle with colorectal cancer. A private memorial service will be held for immediate family on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 5-7pm at Ruby Memorial Funeral Home in North Brunswick. Bob's wish was to have a huge Celebration of Life service, encompassing all his family, friends and colleagues, but due to Covid, this celebration will take place at a later date.

Bob was born June 25, 1963, in Hackensack, NJ to Robert Stango, Sr. and Gloria Mazzagatti. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Stango, his children Terri Stango, Nikki Sterling, his step-children Sammy Schofield, Toby Schofield, Dylan Curatola and his granddaughter Morgan Stango. He is also survived by his parents Gloria Mazzagatti and Robert Stango Sr., his siblings Renee Patterson and Glenn Stango, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving extended family.

Bob worked at Princeton University for 30+ years in a number of different information technology positions, most recently as the Associate Director of Enterprise Performance and Security Monitoring. He had a natural talent for I.T., and enjoyed troubleshooting technical issues as well as teaching others how to solve their technical issues. His endless amount of patience, vast knowledge, and friendly manner will be sorely missed.

When not working or spending time with family, Bob found great joy in listening to music, playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, playing numerous video games and training for\competing in races and triathlons. Bob truly believed in “Being the change you want to see in the world” and lived his life accordingly. He was an inspiration and a source of great support to everyone who knew him. His easy laugh and quick smile brightened every room he entered, and his passing is a great loss.

In lieu of flowers, Bob has requested donations be sent to cancer charity organizations.

Arrangements are under the respectful care and direction of Funeral Director:
