Obituary for Prabhasri Ray

Prabhasri Ray, 69, of Monroe Township, NJ passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones at 6:42 AM on December 24, 2022.

Daughter of the late Mr. Sirish Chandra Singh and Mrs. Manjula (Bir) Singh. Wife to Rabindra Ray for 50 years. Mother to Ranjan Ray (Amanda Lee), Rashmi Wheeler (Gregory Wheeler) and Grandmother to Sienna Wheeler.
Sister to Santosh, Satish, Sudhansu, and Subhransu, Jayashree, Subhashree, Sushree and Debraj. Beloved Cousin, Aunt, Great-aunt, and friend to many.

She was born on October 15, 1953 in Dhenkanal, Odisha, India; where she was raised by her loving parents in a tight-knit family. In 1972 she was married and immigrated to the United States, where she and Rabi spent their
lives together. They continued their education and careers, raised their two children, Ranjan and Rashmi, and later raised their two dogs, Gizmo and Misa. Prabha enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her most recent joy was her granddaughter, Sienna.

Prabha’s career highlights included working in the publishing, banking and pharmaceutical industries. In addition, she owned and operated her own business for several years. She was also active in the non-profit area. As the
President of the New Jersey Chapter of Odisha Society of the Americas, she raised funds for helping cyclone victims in Odisha, India.

She was adored by all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kind-hearted spirit and her heartwarming smile.

A funeral service, including puja, viewing, and cremation will be held on Tuesday,
December 27th from 1:00-3:00 PM (EST USA) at Franklin Memorial Park Crematory Chapel
1800 Rt. 27 in North Brunswick, NJ.
