Obituary for Nirmal Kumar Khanna
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Nirmal K. Khanna, after a long battle with interstitial lung disease. He was 80 years old. He passed with family by his bedside.
In 1963, after graduating from the prestigious IIT-Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi he left behind his family in India to move to America. He worked and attended graduate schools at NYU and Columbia Univ. Receiving masters degrees in both Mechanical and Chemical engineering.
Dad worked in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry for the next 40 years for companies like FMC, Hoffman -LaRoche and Genzyme. He was an avid tennis player and CNBC watcher with a strong interest in the financial markets.
Dad leaves behind his wife Santosh Khanna MD; his sister Nirmala Kapoor; sons Sunil Khanna MD and Pravein Khanna MD, his daughters in law, Toral and Sonia and two grandsons, Kavir and Rohit.
We pray to bless his departed soul with eternal peace and give strength to the family members to bear the loss of their Beloved Nirmal Kumar.
