Obituary for James A. Ogilvie

James Aurelio Ogilvie, a.k.a. “Tito", age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

He was born on December 30,1939 in Colón, Panama to the late Alice M Johnson and Aurelio Ogilvie.

James graduated in Panama and then later moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1979.

Tito was a devoted husband to the late Melva Ogilvie, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his four children, Alejandro, Ilka, Tamara, and Edison: six grandchildren, Aurelio,
Brianna, Christopher, Desmond, Elshaddai, and Xybre; five great-grandchildren, Leilani, Kyla, Gia, Noble,
and Romeo, and his sisters, Patricia and Marcia. On his father’s side he is survived by his sister Joyce
and his older and only brother Allan. Between the two sides he is survived by a host of nieces, nephews.
and cousins.

Tito had a successful career as a Supervisor for the City of New York, Public Assistance Department
where he served for several decades.

He was passionate about Salsa Music and could often be seen.
watching recorded concerts. He also loved watching baseball games as a loyal Met’s fan.

Tito will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his playful yet commanding voice, his friendliness,
infectious smile, and unwavering love for his family.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on
June 19, 2023, at 10:00AM
at Ruby Memorial Funeral located at 2050
US-130, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902.
