Obituary for George Chingery Jr.

George Chingery, Jr
August 11th, 1953 – December 10th, 2020

George Chingery, resident of Edison, NJ, passed away due to COVID on December 10th, 2020 at the age of 67 at JFK Medical Center, Edison, NJ.

George grew up in Fords, NJ. He met his wife Karen in 1980. They married in 1984 and settled in Edison, NJ. He worked at Bristol Myers Squibb for 30 years before retiring in 2013.

George was a long-time member of the Friday Night Bowling League at Majestic Lanes and a member of the Keasbey Outboard Boating Club (KOBC).

George’s greatest joys in life (beside his wife Karen) were his dogs, Jesse and Jasmine, Maypo and Maverick, and Rags and Casey, who he loved like they were his own children. George just adored dogs and so seemed to be reciprocated as they just all happen to take to him.

Those that knew George would always say that he would give those he loved the shirt off his back. He would help anyone whether it was family or friend in need or an animal in need. He especially loved spending every Saturday night with his beloved wife and family and friends.

He mostly enjoyed watching football and horseracing with his brother-in-law and best friend, Patrick. George relished fishing on his boat and traveling to Florida with Karen and also Patrick for week-long fishing adventures. Every day for nearly 36 years, George would lovingly feed the wild birds in his backyard, who he called the “chippies.” He was loved and will be missed by all.

George is predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Chingery and his Aunt Betty Kozma who was a second Mother to him. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Chingery (Scheid); beloved sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Joseph Logozio; beloved brother Ron Chingery and his partner Carol Christine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Patrick Wallace; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kerry Ann and John Cigas; nieces and nephews, Meghan Wallace, Vincent and Elissa Logozio, Melissa Wallace, Stephen Scheid, Sadie Logozio, and Cory Cigas.

Cremation will be private.

Funeral arrangements are under the respectful care and direction of Ruby Memorial Funeral & Cremation Services in North Brunswick, NJ. Family and friends may share memories and offer condolences at www.rubymemorialhome.com.
