Obituary for Flora Madeira

In Loving Memory of Flora Madeira, 92, of Newark, NJ who passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Flora Madeira was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved working as a secretary in NYC and enjoyed visiting NYC on her days off. Flora had a love for film and theater. Flora loved classic movies such as Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Singing in the Rain and The Wizard of OZ. She saw some of the classic movies on the big screen when they first premiered. In her younger days she loved to get her exercise by walking everywhere. She was a very fast walker and you had to be in shape to keep up with her in the city.

When Flora’s nieces were growing up they looked forward to their yearly day trip to Asbury Park. It was a fun day spent on the beach, then dinner at a fancy restaurant, followed by rides, games and ice cream while walking the boardwalk. Flora never forgot anyone’s birthday. She was cared for dearly by her brother Orlando who kept her comfortable and made sure she was eating plenty of fresh foods prepared by him daily. Flora was a very special lady with a beautiful friendly smile that made everyone always feel welcome. Flora will be missed. We love you Flora. Rest In Peace.
